I was recently approached by FuseFX to assist in the creation of a complex shot / environment replacement for the TV show Zoo. The original shot was filmed on a dock in the middle of Vancouver Winter, surrounded by snow, while the final brief required the shot to be more mid summer, NYC airport/tarmac. The camera, positioned on a crane tracks a car along an open concrete area, eventually into a plane hanger. The shot, which lasts around 11 seconds was split into two sections, an A side and B side. I had to create a full 360 environment for the A side of the shot, including the ground plane beneath the car, which previously had snow. The ground plane had multiple passes to assist in creating a wet texture, with puddles etc. To create the 360 i rendered a 360 in Max of the ground plane, and stitch this together with a 360 matte painting inside Photoshop.
